I don't usually write reviews, especially for items of this nature, but I think this one is worth it, so here goes. First off, I am 23 years old and have never had children. When I opened my regular sized Luna Beads, they were *much* larger than I expected (I didn't know the mini's existed when I ordered these.) They were closer to the size of ping pong balls than any "beads" I've ever seen (but I guess "Luna Balls" just didn't have the same ring to it.) Not to be dissuaded, I assembled the two pink balls in their harness, applied a bit of the included lubricant to the end, and inserted the beads in a standing position (I use a diaphragm and find it easiest to insert this way.) Insertion was rather uncomfortable, bordering on downright painful.As I walked around the house, I was disappointed at how little I felt. There was a small vibration that I could feel when moving in certain ways, such as bending over and standing back up, but I felt none of the "clenching" that other reviewers have mentioned. They really didn't feel like they were doing anything at all. But I'd just spend 25 good dollars on these, and I wasn't about to give up without giving them a chance. I wore them all day for a couple of days, then had to take a break since my period started.About a week later, when my body was able to accept such things again, I reinserted the Luna Beads, this time using a pink bead and a blue bead and again wearing them all day as I went about my normal activities. After a couple days with this weight, I graduated to two blue beads. With the blue beads, I immediately noticed that the vibrations were more easily felt, but I still didn't feel any "clenching."Initial challenges and disappointments aside, at this point I am not sorry that I ordered the Luna Beads. Regarding my difficulties with insertion, I quickly found that by using a larger amount of lubricant and applying it both to the beads and to, well, where the beads are going, I was able to insert with much less discomfort. It's still not my favorite thing to do, but it doesn't hurt anymore. No worse than putting in a diaphragm or menstrual cup.The only thing I still don't like about them is that they make it difficult to pee. This may be a problem unique to me and my internal anatomy, but at times it feels like they are actually blocking my urethra and I can't get a good stream going. I have found that if I push the beads up with my finger as far as they will go before I pee, this seems to help. And if you're like me, you can forget about pooping when the beads are in. Your body will push the beads right out along with the poop, and it is not a comfortable experience.Now as to whether these beads working as claimed, causing me to perform involuntary Kegel exercises throughout the day as I walk, run, clean the house, etc., this I'm still not sure about. I will say that knowing the beads are inside and being able to hear their occasional "click" or feel their vibrations is a great reminder to perform *voluntary* Kegels as I sit in my car or at my desk, and it does feel like I have better control with something to "grab" as I perform my exercises. For a little added resistance, you can even grab the string and pull gently with your hand as you pull the other direction with your lady parts.I don't know if it's these extra Kegels I've been consciously doing or if simply having the beads in is developing my muscles as claimed, but I will say that there have been benefits in the bedroom. I've only been sexually active since I got married a year ago, and while sex hasn't been uncomfortable, it's always been a challenge for me to figure out what I need to do with my body to help it *really* feel good. I don't know if it's just a placebo effect, but now I feel much more conscious and in control of my Kegel muscles, and I will say that tightening them up during sex has made it much more pleasurable for me. My husband has commented that I feel tighter to him as well. :)I plan to continue wearing these on a regular basis and may come back and update if I continue to see benefits. My advice to anyone who may have ordered these beads and is initially disappointed: don't give up right away. Give them a chance for at least a couple weeks, move to the heavier beads if you don't feel anything with the lighter ones. You've got nothing to lose and you'll be happy you gave them a chance if your experience is anything like mine.I bought this product, rather than the standard sized Lelo Luna Beads, because I haven't given birth and am still under thirty years old, as per Lelo Luna's specifications. And as I'm new to kegel weights, these seemed perfect for me.Here's my experience with Lelo Luna Mini Beads:The Box: The box that the 'beads' came in was a well made, soft white box with a small picture of them on the top. In the corner, in small, light grey lettering, was a one sentence description of what they are. Anyone just glancing at this box (if accidentally left on a shelf or dresser while company was over) would wouldn't look twice at it- it's very discreet.The Beads: The pleasant-looking, light pink and light blue beads are all small, a little bigger than an American quarter if blown up like a balloon, or about the size of the average woman's top thumb joint if it were rounded like a ball. The blue beads are slightly heavier than the pink beads, due to the different weights inside them, but both are exactly the same size and fit into the white harness- a soft, very flexible contraption- quite snuggly. One of the pink and one of the blue beads has a string attached to it that loops through and out of the harness for easy removal.Use: Being new to kegel weights, I tried the lightest weight first- only one pink bead. I wore it for about an hour- walking the dog and folding and washing laundry- but it didn't seem to do too much. I would feel the weight inside the bead move, but it didn't actively make my body clench to keep it in, and it didn't feel excessively sexy as others have reported, though it did feel okay. As it wasn't doing much on its own, I did some kegels on my own by lying down and tugging on the thread for added weight/resistance. The next day, I tried the next weight up- one blue bead. I definitely felt a difference in the weight, but, again, it didn't make my body clench on its own. I used it for about an hour, and again felt disappointed when it wasn't making my body clench on its own as advertised. The movement of the bead did remind me to do more kegels though. The day after that, I used tried the next weight up- two pink beads in the harness. Insertion was easy enough, though the space between the beads is thin and bendy, and took a bit of adjustment. The weight felt good and the movement of the beads felt very, very good indeed. (Not nearly enough to bring me even close to 'a conclusion,' but it certainly made me feel good). There were times, however, that I noticed that I didn't feel the beads moving at all- even while walking and bending and such. I don't know why this was, I can only assume that I was distracted and just didn't feel them. But once again, other than reminding me to do my kegels, (when I could feel them move), the movement of the beads didn't make my body do anything. They just served as a reminder. The next day, I tried the two blue beads in the harness, and they felt the same way.Noise: The beads click and clack rather loudly no matter where they are- inside of the body, or outside. They aren't loud enough to really bring attention to yourself, but they can be heard. (Most people just attribute the soft noise of them clacking it to something you're carrying in your purse or pocket. If you're naked, however, such as just coming out of the shower, there's no real way to hide it.Relieving Yourself: There are always times where you just have to go, even when you're 'exercising,' and I was no exception. Urinating with the beads still inserted wasn't a problem at all, but defecating certainly was. (I felt like I was going to give birth to the beads!) I don't recommend it.Overall Impression: As these are my first weights, I don't have anything to compare them to; but I do know that they just didn't weigh enough for me. I had no trouble keeping them in at all, even when fully relaxed. The movement of the beads, however, did serve as a (mostly) constant reminder to me to do my kegels, and if I didn't already know, they would help pin-point which muscles to isolate in order to do them. I would recommend them to a complete kegel novice, but not to anyone looking to go a step beyond that.I was surprised at how well these work. Wear for 15minutes a day only. It will strengthen the pelvic muscles. It's comfortable and will not irritate you.I have used other beads before and this is one of the best I've had. Due to the nature of the usage of this product it is always best to spend a little bit more especially where hygiene is concerned. Product is non-porous and easy to clean. Just pop out the beads and wash everything in warm soapy water, rinse and pat dry before putting away in storage. Best avoid knock offs that are made with less concerns to hygiene just because you want something cheaper. Highly recommend it.Lelo has excellent customer care and service. This product is genuine. Comes with serial number that you can register on Lelo's website for warranty and customer service puposes.I recently bought this product for some fun with my partner:. However this all changed after inserting the balls one became dislodged... i went into pure panic mode as this as never happened before.... it took me 10 minutes to get the ball back out and i will never be using them agen!!!Effective in strengthening pelvic floor. Easy to use on a daily basis and have recommended to friends after having a baby ( obviously only when suitable - I.e. Few months post delivery)I thought these beads vibrated. Have I missed something? Have made no difference at all. I’d like a refund!It is not possible wash them perfectly.
